HPHA has a 1940B John Deere Tractor with a slant dash available for sale. This tractor is one of several pieces of equipment donated to HPHA by Liberty Properties Trust.
"The Model B was second only to the Model A as the most popular two cylinder tractor that John Deere ever produced, but not by much ... from 1934 through the end of production in 1953, John Deere built approximately 314,000 tractors in the Model B family.... Production peaked in 1937 at 21,248 Model B tractors... The little B weighed about 2,800 pounds, 1,000 pounds less than the Model A ... and 1,600 pounds less than the model G introduced that year. It also had less horsepower but was ideal for tens of thousands of small farms across America."
Our little tractor has obviously been around the fields a time or two, but what a great project!
