Margaret Strawbridge Daffodil Days

Margaret Strawbridge loved flowers and especially Daffodils. On a trip to Europe, she returned with an unusual daffodil. We have been nursing and transplanting these and many more.

We also got lucky this year with a lovely spring day and lots of daffodils in bloom. We even caught some kids playing outside.

Saturday April 18, 2015 1-5PM at the Penrose Strawbridge House.

Please be sure to join us next year!. This event is open to the public and lets us show off the progress of our restoration during the fall and winter season.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Daffodil Days 2016

Spring Open House / Annual Member Meeting. Special Guest is Mr. Jefferson Moak who will present the current status of our collection and our preservation efforts. THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO 4/23 due to SNOW!

Thank you to all who attended our rescheduled 2016 Daffodil Days on April 23. The daffodils, unfortunately, did not survive the unexpected snow 2 weeks ago, but it was a gorgeous spring day. Our guest this year was our archivist, Jefferson Moak, who updated everyone on the work he has been doing organizing our collection.

Mr Moak is a professional archivist, historian and genealogist. He has worked at the Map Collection of the Free Library of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Historical Commission, the Philadelphia City Archives, and most recently as senior archivist at the National Archives at Philadelphia. He has been working with the HPHA collection beginning in fall of 2015 and will be giving a presentation on the current status of the collection.

And our good friend Beth McCausland from Elizabeth Joyce Cakes graced the event again with a lovely selection of Daffodil Cupcakes.
